Health care has been always our focus next to the education.  In a country where health care is still a luxury and a privilege of the affluent, our health clinics reach thousands of the rural population who have no access to health or emergency care. With a meager income, survival becomes more important than any other issues. All the more, access to health care facility in any emergency is unlikely an option to many. We are proud to serve the local rural communities for the last fifteen years in providing basic health care through St. Mary’s Health Center. We have an efficient team of  doctor, nurses, lab tech and  pharmacist.  Running seven days a week and serving more than 500 patients monthly, we provide health education, preventive care and increased quality of life to those suffering the miseries wreaked by poverty, illiteracy and lack of transportation. Providing vaccinations and nutrition monitoring are two services that will improve healthcare for vulnerable children. We also  conduct  medical camps periodically to have awareness on how to live healthiest lives. In July 2019, we had successful medical camps on Diabetics, Cholesterol, Cataract  and Strokes.

All the more, access to health care facility in any emergency is unlikely an option to many.  Scorpion or snake bites either at home or in field, or any accidents of life threatening, people have no easy access for immediate treatment. Even diarrhea or any viral fever can take huge toll among children when they are not properly diagnosed and treated.  We provide primary quality health care to the villagers who have no easy access to medical centers at an affordable cost.  Our goal is to work for the benefit of the economically weaker sections of rural communities by providing basic health care. Healthy children have a better chance at overcoming poverty and leading happier, more successful lives. Running seven days a week and serving more than 1,500 patients monthly, our clinics provide health education, preventive care and increased quality of life to those suffering the miseries wreaked by poverty, illiteracy and lack of transportation. Providing vaccinations and nutrition monitoring are two services that will improve healthcare for vulnerable children. 

St. Mary’s Clinic Programs were opened in 2003,  and offer subsidized medical care to local villagers through five rural clinics. These health care centers offer crucial, life-saving care to hundreds of rural patients every month. Unlike government or private clinics, St. Mary’s will never refuse treatment to patients. Nursing service is free; other clinics often mark health services up to four times their base cost. At St. Mary’s, patients pay only what they can for necessary medications. The clinics also offer a free yearly check-up to local schoolchildren,  and run free medical camps in conjunction with medical students from the University of Pondicherry.  Currently, the clinics are equipped to treat common ailments, such as asthma, allergies, fever, anemia, malnutrition, worms, parasites, typhoid, cold, flu, gastrointestinitis, diabetes, diarrhea, hypertension, conjunctivitis, scabies, scorpion stings, and small road accidents. However, they currently lack the facilities to handle life-or-death emergencies: heart attacks, strokes, severe burns, and high-impact trauma injuries. These patients must be sent to the nearest hospital which travel may be up to 30 km risking their lives, and wasting critical time.
