VOCATIONAL TRAINING

VOCATIONAL TRAINING

St.Patrick’s and Kodaikkanal Community College: Our Community College programs have been very practical and successful in all these years. It is a great program that is well designed to suit the needs of our students who could not afford to continue their education. It is also a cost effective program that will suit even for a poor family. Students who could not walk into doors of the college have a taste of attending the Community College Programs and develop their skills and talents to find some jobs and to make their living. 90% of students who attended our programs with the cost of 200 dollars per year have successfully found jobs that generate 50 to 100 dollars per month. Currently we have 70 students enrolled with this program.  141 students who completed this program got jobs successfully with good salary. Two of the girls are being considered for an interview from the US Consulate for higher education in the United States. Most of our students are young girls who complete their training in Nursing Assistant and in Tailoring & Embroidering.

In the last five years, 40 students who obtained a Diploma in Four Wheeler Mechanism got jobs. One of the students has been considered by the US Consulate in Chennai for year training in one of the Community Colleges in the United States with a full scholarship. Our success remains in helping these youth to have good future and direction in life. Our goal is to empower the dalit youth so that they can achieve independence and self-esteem in life. Through this training, we help the youth to fight against the poverty and exploitation.
